Collinwood in the middle of the Nineteenth Century is a lonely and terrible place. The vast estate is almost empty, its sons all gone. The only person left to look after the increasingly erratic Edith Collins is her miserable daughter Judith. But Judith has a secret hope of romance - of dancing in a beautiful ballgown with a dashing stranger. But the man of her dreams is becoming steadily more real. Soon Judith must fight for the man she loves. But should she, instead, have heeded the warning words of her bitter grandmother? Cast Terry Crawford (Edith Collins), Amber Benson (Judith Collins), James Unsworth (Redmond Van Buren), Paris Campbell, David Johnson, Adenya Knight, Michael Salami (Ballroom Ghosts).

First the synopsis, as Amazon does not provide one as of this writing:Collinwood in the nineteenth century is a lonely place. While her brothers experience the world, the young Judith Collins must stay and tend to her grandmother, Edith.
Judith, though, has secret dreams of romance. She sees herself dancing in a beautiful dress with a dashing stranger. But the man of her dreams is becoming steadily more real.
Soon Judith must fight for the man she loves. But should she, instead, have heeded the warning words of her bitter grandmother?
Terry Crawford, of course, is the grumpy Edith Collins. Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Amber Benson is Judith Collins, Joan Bennett being unavailable. This may be a bit of stunt casting, but she does a lovely job, without trying to imitate Ms. Bennett as far as I can tell. Redmond Van Buren, the object of her affections, is played by a ghostly James Unsworth, with whom I am unfamiliar.
This doomed romance is a bit slow-paced and may not be to everyone's taste. But it fits in well with what we know from the story of 1897, and also stands on its own for anyone unfamiliar with television series details.
