The daughter of a semi-professional baseball player left home at the age of eighteen and took a forty-one year hiatus from baseball. What happened forty-one years later to turn her into a raving baseball fanatic, and what valuable life-changing lessons did she learn?

Possessed By Baseball Is there life after baseball? eBook Susan Kay Gilmore

I met the author Susan Kay Gilmore at a writer's event last weekend. When she told me about growing up in the Midwest, as I was, in a baseball family I was intrigued. I purchased her book and really enjoyed it. There is a definite lesson here about what you dislike in childhood becoming something you can enjoy as an adult. This is a wonderful, touching story.

Possessed By Baseball Is there life after baseball? eBook Susan Kay Gilmore Reviews

Light, breezy short story! A must read if you are devout Los Angeles Angels fan or are a baseball affectionado. Or if you have ever been in awe of your own evolution in life's passions. Hoping she'll have more memoirs to share!
This is a wonderful little story! I can totally relate to long days on the pine. Though my dad did not play baseball, my brother and sometimes friends got to go to minor league games. It was always a very laid back atmosphere compared to a pro game, but as much fun for a kid. Because I went to AAA games I got to see Mickey Mantle hit several out of the park before a game. I will never forget that. Even more I love how the author demonstrates so vividly how the atmosphere of the game connects her to her childhood and the fond memories of her father. It's kinda like how fresh cut grass always reminds me of football....
